Good morning from (outside of) Horta. We made it in late last night after 191 hours from Newfoundland only to find that they will not let us dock until morning! So we spent a quiet night in the harbor and went to sleep early (11:00 PM and woke up at 9:00 AM -me anyway).

Let’s go back to yesterday when we were on the way in….I awoke to hot weather at 6:00 AM and the temperature continued to rise.

The first task of the morning was to take down the Canadian flag and send up the Portuguese flag.
Raising the flag

The within 80 miles of shore, the birds came back….
The Dolphins too… look for the mother and baby swiming together

As we were preparing to come into harbor, we jettisoned our “favorite” vegetable gone bad.

These islands are visibly volcanic..

A very European look to the town…and why not, we are in Europe!

We were visited by an (Arctic?) Tern on the way in….

Not a lot of super yachts visible yet…I think Mōli has finally found her crowd.

A tradition in Horta is for boats to paint their name, crew members and some rendition of their boat.

We were ready to drop anchor in the harbor and well, the windlass broke….
See you in Horta…and this time I mean it!
